ParticipantWelcome from the US – there is one other ‘English’ speaker here – me! 🙂 There are so many variations on the 230/250/280 that we would love to hear which ones you have! Karl

ParticipantNice job, again! I really like the flags and matching window curtains!

ParticipantYour collection is getting bigger! I love Den Røde Løber remake!

ParticipantThat is my 280SL photo above – I got it many years ago with a white base in that funny Tekno box.

ParticipantI am still interested in when and why Tekno converted from rubber to metal to rubber (or metal to rubber?) tires on their FORD V8s. Was the rubber shortage in Europe the same as the US at that time. See the 1942 poster from the US about the lack of new rubber supply after 1942…

Perhaps from 1940-42, they used rubber and then as well after the 1945 surrender? So from about 1942- about 45 was tinplate?

ParticipantThose are great restore jobs and I love the 2-tone paint job.
I have never heard of a Tekno Opel Rekord with cast wheels. I suspect it is a restoration.

ParticipantKnut, was it more than 2 years ago we had this discussion? with photos! http://www.planetdiecast.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=197&id=71548&Itemid=0
MPC are the black Kirk boxes with ‘Model Products’ and ‘Action’ on them? (not the MPC boxes with strip ‘n steer from the US).

ParticipantHans Jørgen!
That might have ben me – Hobby Talk 2008! Here is my ad from December 1970, but no Mercedes is mentioned for the US.

ParticipantVery very nice! You did 3 more. I like your three better than the Atlas/Hongwell/Minichamps…
Stroget
ParticipantVery, very nice airplanes – with nice boxes also!
Danske Modelbiler (2002) has an ad for Blue Sun with address Jaegersborggade 56, Kobenhavn N. They also made a BAKELIT(!!) Ford V8 coupe.

ParticipantTwo beautiful Tekno restores!
Stroget
ParticipantJa – yes!

ParticipantI really like your idea to use a LLedo to re-create an old Tekno. No one will be fooled and spend a lot of Kroner thinking they got a real Tekno (now or years later). I worry that repaint/spare parts cars will be taken as ‘real’ Tekno years later, when the 3rd or 4th owner sells it!
What other common/modern model cars can be turned into classic Teknos? 🙂
Stroget
ParticipantNice!!! If you do not place it next to a ‘real’ Tekno VW, that might confuse some people! It would me! It looks so right but just something a little ‘wrong’ with it! 🙂

ParticipantVery nice job!

ParticipantI thought that Akerman had too many wheels! 🙂 Looks a little strange on the Volvo flat bed, but I like it!

ParticipantHere is my Metosul-Tekno comparison! I bought the Portugal one a few years ago to do the same comparison. I think the windows are not the same so it is a different mold.

ParticipantAll four books are a great source of photos and are very nicely done, I would not call them perfect in every detail or complete, but they are worth having. No price guide ever seems to be very current (as soon as it is published)! 🙂 Before the internet and soem good websites like Ole’s and Peter’s, they were one of the few sources of Tekno information.

ParticipantThere are a few choices now for the Sonett in 1/43. Somerville made an old white metal handmade one a while ago, and Neo just came out with a resin copy recently. They are all very nice. The Universal Hobbies / eagles race looks different from yours, so perhaps 4 or more versions now?
