ParticipantThanks, Hans Jørgen, for the comments. I’ll add the dates for the Volvo and I understand your comment about the Chevrolet 460-462. That’s a good option but I don’t know if Volmer really paid that much attention to reference numbers! 🙂
I used the term Scandinavia because I did not know the import tax limitations on each country and tried to be generic. Maybe I should have just used Norway.

ParticipantThanks guys. It’s too bad there is no one from Vilmer themselves to interview to answer all the questions we have. It was great that Peter found so many involved with Tekno and Molberg!
I also want to thank Hans Jørgen and others for their photos. I try to give credit to everyone.

ParticipantDid not realize you are a professional restorer! Very nice! Are you doing any Teknos for customers (or is it confidential)?
Stroget
ParticipantHave you started to restore any yet? Great T-bird – does not need a restore!!!

ParticipantI think my Volvo is too short! hahaha 🙂

ParticipantHi, Lenander! Do you have any left? I live in the US! Maybe you sold them all in DK? What did your mother’s father do at Tekno?

ParticipantI saw a photo of it in the farm gift set so I assume it is a farm tipping trailer. But originally I thought it could be industrial – for gravel or coal? Does anyone know any old farmers? 🙂

ParticipantThe ‘man cave’ is usually in the basement or the lowest floor, ie, the cave! So this is the basement (no windows), with one room only.

ParticipantGreat job with the Ovatrol Polytrol – I will have to look that up. I have never heard of it.
And the Dremel is a great idea too since it has a soft brush!

ParticipantHi Ducki – great job on stripping the Joal – Let us know how it proceeds!
Stroget
ParticipantGreat cabinets – I wish I had a ‘music’ room like that for my Teknos!

ParticipantTom – maybe some light (very fine) steel wool could take some of the rust off. But be careful not to scratch the headlight. And use some tape on the paint so as not to damage it even more. A vert rare VW so a little rust on it is no big problem!!! Congratulations! (Sorry, I can not write in Norwegian.)

ParticipantGreat color ads from Anders And – tak for posting!

ParticipantHahaha – you all are still welcome to come to the US and see the instructions in person!

ParticipantYes, no problem. I put them on hobbyDB so people could use them!

ParticipantHans Jørgen – it’s fantastic that you found that film of the Forum 1964. Proves that the 2 Monzas were there in Copenhagen! I had read years ago that Tekno snuck in to measure it at night since they did not have permission from GM. Perhaps why they left off the Chevrolet name from the Tekno biler!

ParticipantThe license plate starts with PM! (That is a hint!) Playmobile!
It looks very detailed – might be big and all plastic?

ParticipantI don’t know what it is, but I will ask Christian at hobbyDB!

ParticipantNice matching pair, SMS!

ParticipantBagsværd – Haaning Collection? Very nice building! I hope to visit one day post-COVID!
I saw the collection and the Teknos in their old place, Vestsjællands Bilmuseum. They let me see all their old Tekno molds that were behind the counter! Very fascinating! I was geeked out on Tekno history!

ParticipantVilmer vs. Chico Foderbus!

ParticipantThat’s very unusual to have so many in the black boxes. Did the person work for Tekno or Kirk? If you have not sold them, where are they for sale now? I would like to bid on them. You can look on ebay for prices sold to see if any were there recently – in the black Action boxes.

ParticipantLooks better than new!

ParticipantKurt,
I just saw your message – I am sorry but I can only write in English. I have been collecting Tekno since I was a boy in the 1960s and switched to Vilmer when the Teknos got too expensive and I had all of them that I wanted. Tekno had a longer lifespan as a company and really made detailed, well-engineered toy cars. They were better than Corgi and Dinky at the time. Vilmer started later and ended a year before Tekno, more or less.
Vilmer were more toy like and were less popular/distributed outside Denmark. I am writing up a history of them in English: https://www.maronline.org.uk/the-history-of-vilmer-toys-part-i/
Do you have any?
