ParticipantI got my BP tractor in 2009 in DK with black tires. Very hard for me to find one. The harvester has those “TEKNO” V8 wheels – 🙂

ParticipantHello from USA – I am sorry I have to write in English. I have collected Tekno for many years now but do not know much about these B.P. boxes for the Tekno Mercedes. Mine have come from ebay in Europe mostly. I have some of the same ones you have and read the same http://bohnstedtpetersen.dk/history.htm website.
Tekno were sold in the early years in the US – 1950s-1960s maybe, the old Dodge trucks, FIRE DEPT trucks, etc. Then at the end of the 1960s they showed up in high end toy stores – MPC and KIRK cars, etc. Some blister packs were sold but they are very rare.
I have never heard of Mercedes Benz dealers giving or selling Tekno 1/43 copies of the cars ever in the US. I do not think Tekno did that with any American dealers. In the 1960-70s the 1/24 scale plastic promo was very popular in the US, not 1/43 metal. But I could be wrong!
Hi Hi Knut, Ole, Peter! And Hans Jørgen – I’ve seen your name before! You all know a lot about Tekno. It is fun to learn their history and back ground, I think.

ParticipantHello from USA. I am very sorry I can not write in Danish. The 4CV is one of my favorite Tekno, and Vilmer, cars! Model Collector, Feb 1990, had a great article on Tekno 800-series by Anders Ditlev Clausager. He said the 4CV came out for Christmas 1956 and was withdrawn in 1963. The wheels were the five-spoke “starfish”, in ivory plastic with bright hubcaps! I wonder when the Vilmer came out?

ParticipantSorry for another post in English. After I read all the replies here, I went back to my old catalogs. The 71/72 lists these cars with a hole for the Sprite:
810 819 833 834 835 836 837 838So the little VW can tow the caravan! I will have to check for a hole in mine.
That catalog also shows a 3 mm and a 3,5 mm hole – with 2 types of screws!

ParticipantSorry I cab not ewrite in Danish but I live in the USA and speak English. I also have searched for what type truck the Tekno “Dodge” is. I asked some of the American car boards and they did not know any Dodge like that.
It probably is a 1 1/2 or 2 ton Chevy like these:

http://1950-chevrolet-trucks.blogspot.com/2012/04/1950-chevrolet-model-6400-2-ton-truck.htmlWith Lego and others making the big “Chevy” truck in ~1/43 scale, perhaps Tekno went with Dodge hubs so as not be be accused of copying the Lego Chevy toy design? (I have seen the Lego catalog list their 1/43 truck withg the same design as a Chevy!)
