That is very rare to see the old tinplate car in that good shape and with a box! If you sell it, I and many other people will want it. It is one of the first Tekno cars made in Denmark but copied from a similar car from Schuco in Germany.

IndianapolisSava is a partswork from Spain, so all of them I see are from there. Also the BMC Service with English flag is for sale on ‘epay’ also, from Spain, France, or Hong Kong. That’s the only ones!

The copyright is 1965 on the original idea so perhaps they added the Tekno Jaguar in 65 or later in 66 or 67? It was the last one in the series (I think) so it could have been after 1965. It is all a guess on my part, so who really knows?

So the top is the same on the 2 trailers. The wheels are cutout on the Carlsberg, and the baseplates are different. Carlsberg has 2 round pieces that fit together – one on the cab and one on the trailer. See photos above. My 2 trailers are attached here.
Spon (1953-60) did say the boss drove a big Mercedes. Is that all we know about it?

You are right! That is a super find from England – the Dinky car carrier is a classic Dinky, one of the best.

I have new theory now! Knud Jakobsen when he was sales director (maybe 1969) went to the toy companies in the US to find a distribution deal. he ended up at MPC, a large plastic car kit manufacturer, in the suburbs of Detroit! MPC was based in Mt Clemens, MI, just north of Detroit. Knud made a deal with them to sell the Kirk modle kits (metal, 1/43.5 scale) in MPC boxes in the US. There were these in the range:

And Detroit never had a large toy fair – they have the large Car Show every year. Our toy trade association in the US has been around since 1916 and their fair has been in NYC for a long time.
Teknos were sold in the US in high end toy stores in the 1970s. I bought the FORD D800s in Nashville, TN USA, in the middle 1970s (old stock).
