Yes, you are right. Who knows what really happened back then “behind closed doors. Who knows what the three companies (or men) really knew and when – Langes, Tekno, and Vilmer. At least we have the newspaper article and as Peter says we know that Christiansen had the rights to the ‘Dodge’ military and fire rescue trucks in the end!
Ole – the orange/red one is Vilmer! You are right!!1 You have to see the bottom or read the article in MAR Online!

I have never seen that early BP so I was wondering if they called it a DKW but it looked generic? I drive an AUDI with four rings for…. Audi, Horch, Wanderer, and ….DKW! 🙂

India – no, never saw it? Where did you see it? Which one? Metosul only had the Mercedes trucks, I think.
Flemming – I think my Ferrari’s went through an x-ray machine. But they are now OK!

I have one like that but the hoses disintegrated into 1000s of pieces. Too dry! I will have to go to the hardware store to get some very small hoses.
Hans Jorgen, Sorry I can not explain in Danish, but I do not mean they are direct copies, but they must be influenced by each other. The truck cabs are all very different (Vilmer, FJ, Benbros, Lone Star) but as I said above they ALL use the same type flatbed with the same equipment – searchlight, ack ack gun, and radar. They all used existing truck cab bodies but then made them into military trucks with the same type rear equipment. I think it is too much of a coincidence and fun to talk about. But we can probably never prove anything!
I wonder when did the Vilmer military “Dodge” trucks come out and when were Tekno sued by them? i can’t remember. There were two companies in England and one in France and probably others that did these type army trucks. Same cab + many payloads or rear platforms. They ALL had the same rear equipment and the all had that little operator on a stick “hanging on for dear life” out the back! (I hope that translates into Danish – I am sorry I do not speak it)

FJ (France Jouet) – both GMC and Dodge (ex- US WWII), at least 3 difefrent onesHere is a photo of my 3 – one Vilmer and 2 Teknos! The ‘copies’ all had these same rear ends – radar, ack ack gun (pom pom gun in the UK), and searchlight truck! The guy on the Vilmer was a “sitting duck”! (another US expression)

The first 10 Fun HO! came from Streamlux molds. They bought the molds from Streamlux and started their Midget range with them. I have a Streamlux on the baseplate but in a Fun HO! box! I have some of the 1st ten that say Streamlux, Fun HO!, or nothing on the base!
So I think Fun HO stared casting them without changing the baseplates, or used up old stock that they bought with the molds. Then blanked out the Streamlux name and added their own name to the molds.
That sheet is a mixed bag of cars/trucks/buses and some non-Tekno on the left, so I think it is not from the factory. The ones on the left look very American but I do not know what they are.
I think for most of these you must turn them over to see if they are Tekno or Vilmer. I still call them Dodge just because most collectors know exactly what truck you are talking about. It’s become their default name even though they are not Dodges!

I also have a few Fun Ho!s They are small like the original Matchbox, and came in boxes and blister packs later. I am glad to see the museum is still open! They reproduced some in the 1990s (with added Windows).
