Kom lige forbi disse biler…. BENBROS England. Hvor mon de er inspireret fra. Såvit jeg kan læse mig til er de fra omkring 1955-60/65.
De sælges i æskerne som, Truck, og Car, alså som bil og lastbil. Manden nævner dem som Dodge. Det er nok den almindelige enorme trang nogen samlere har, til at sætte et bil navn i forbindelse med et stykke legetøj inspireret af tidens almene køretøjer, uden et egentligt konkret forbillede.
Som de Danske versioner har de intet med en Dodge at gøre hverken Engelsk eller Amerikansk. Men på en eller anden måde ligner de en Vilmer bil.Link :

Det er meget godt fundet. De er flotte og ligner klart Vilmer/Tekno bilerne. Om det Bengros der har kopiret dem er sandsynligt hvis de først er kommet i 1955.
Ja det er lidt morsomt at skribenten kalder dem Dodge. Dinky havde den Engelske Dodge/DeSoto model – kom som Tomte-Lærdal – senere. Der skulle ikke meget ændring af grillen til for at bilen egentligt blev den , dengang, helt nye Bedford fra 1953/54. Det er jo ikke helt præcist Vilmer bilen, så den lille ændring af grillen kan jeg egentligt ikke forstå at man ikke har gjort.
Faktisk var jeg igang med de underlige biler fra Corgi Toys, som ingen gider at beskæftige sig med. De er så kedelige at de næsten heller ikke nævnes i den store Corgi bog, har jeg ladet mig fortælle. Qualitoys Turbine Truck serien. De har nu noget i sig der kan overraske.
Qualitoys serien fra Benbros var bla. også disse militær biler med opstart i midten af halvtredserne, står der i teksten på hjemmesiden. Jeg kan ikke entydigt fastslå om de udgik i 1960 eller de kørte linen ud, frem til 1965.
Nogen råber jo KOPI næsten uanset hvor god den er eller hvilken størrelse,og om den kan åbne og lukke de samme klapper eller ej. Kopi og inspiration er ikke det samme,og betyder ikke det samme.
SÅ AHI-japan har en gang lavet en serie på 12 militær biler. Lastbilerne er også blandet i cevile farver i andre serier, fx. tømmerbil, cement bil osv. ellers svarende til Teknos mini lastbil, eller måske Vilmer/Tekno militær serien….Google AHI set of 12 military trucks — masser af billeder
I wonder when did the Vilmer military “Dodge” trucks come out and when were Tekno sued by them? i can’t remember. There were two companies in England and one in France and probably others that did these type army trucks. Same cab + many payloads or rear platforms. They ALL had the same rear equipment and the all had that little operator on a stick “hanging on for dear life” out the back! (I hope that translates into Danish – I am sorry I do not speak it)

The ‘copies’ all had these same rear ends – radar, ack ack gun (pom pom gun in the UK), and searchlight truck! The guy on the Vilmer was a “sitting duck”! (another US expression)

Dit engelske er ikke det store problem når jeg kan så er jeg sikker på de fleste også kan fine biler (Nice car) jeg er ikke den store militær samler har en jeep med trailer og kanon og en “Doge” med rufKARL – I should think that the cars should at least resemble each other if you have to make comparisons, or cal them copycats. For non-car enthusiasts, I should also point out that GMC and DODGE are not from the same company but they are two competing companies. The mixing of the names at Langes Toys does not mean that we should continue with it.
GMC Trucks from the US or from EUROP all have independent wings
Chevrolet, GMC Truck, Opel Blitz and Bedford. corresponding to e.g. Vilmer’s military Trucks.
DODGE has integrated wings which are very similar to your Lonestar Trucks. But like the Danish models, it’s just trucks – nothing else –
I can’t quite understand your comparison between the Vilmer Trucks and the Lone Star trucks. The only common denominator is that they are military trucks. They are by no means similar to each other.We have had the same discussions with the Tekno, MG 1100 and Monza model, and in between the Mercedes 230SL, 300SL and Jaguar E. There can be no KOPI business when the cars are not at all similar. AND everyone other than Tekno or Vilmer is allowed to make the same cars, which is why they also look similar.
However, Vilmer’s Military series is a little different because it is almost just VILMER trucks and looks just like itself. Benbro’s models are very similar. The AHI models as well but they are small 1:65.
AND a lot can be explained but not all, I have borrowed a few photos from this thread and a few from the web, solely for the purpose of making my text understandable.
I’m sorry, but I simply can’t find any similarities between the last two pictures and the Vilmer cars?
Hans Jorgen, Sorry I can not explain in Danish, but I do not mean they are direct copies, but they must be influenced by each other. The truck cabs are all very different (Vilmer, FJ, Benbros, Lone Star) but as I said above they ALL use the same type flatbed with the same equipment – searchlight, ack ack gun, and radar. They all used existing truck cab bodies but then made them into military trucks with the same type rear equipment. I think it is too much of a coincidence and fun to talk about. But we can probably never prove anything!
Yes they are inspired by each other – It is something quite different and it is quite legal.
The Lonstar models also have high sides on the charger – Vilmer does not have the same, with radar etc. It is also not the same type of bracket / holder for the cannon, etc.
Thus, your Lone Sart models may as well be inspired by reality or the Benbros models, etc.The Benbros and AHI models, on the other hand, are direct copies of the Vilmer trucks, precisely because NO REAL Trucks look like this. only Vilmer trucks. They might recall a 1947 Studebaker truck but then the gasoline tank is wrong, and should be stored in the cab, as on a Chevrolet / GMC and Opel Blitz ….. Only Bedford had it located outside and the Bedford A model first came in 1953
