it’s a really nice car and box you have. We discuss the time when these beautiful boxes appeared. We believe it is Mercedes-Benz’s 80th anniversary in 1966. if the box came in spring 1965 – 1967, the model 230SL and 250SL and 280SL will be correct
we have seen 230SL – 250SL with the text without or with black background. 280SL we have only seen the black background for the text. Perhaps those without black background to the north, and the boxes where the text is on black background for export to all other countries.
Herbie QUESTION:
I can not find evidence if the model came with Tekno name at the bottom and wheels with hubcaps (December 24-1968 only USA) Herbie came out officially in March 1969, with the “Mustang” wheels. I was wondering if you might be able to help with the issue?
