It’s interesting to hear when and where Tekno/Kirk was sold in the US. You write”In the 1960-70s the 1/24 scale plastic promo was very popular in the US, not 1/43 metal.” I saw quite a few of those when I lived in Illinois, and wonder if not that was only american cars?
Your 280SL looks grreat! Do you have many other Tekno’s? 🙂
I am “hooked” on the 230/250/280SL range of Mercedes from Tekno/Kirk and also the copies mady by Joal. I have a few, LOL. I enjoy spending time restoring old diecast, some close to original, but also “code3” versions. I am planning a few multicolored SL at the moment but haven’t found where to split the colors and what colors to use.
