InactiveTeknos “Volvo” bus, den gamle model, ser ud til at være solgt
meget i udlandet.
Min lille private statistik viser det nærmest kun er postbussen
fra Schweiz samt enkelte “KS” busser som måske er købt som
souvenir i Danmark.
Participantand of course the version for USA/Canada/UK – Rapid Transit Co.

InactiveYes, I have one of these, but refers in my text only to those which is
allways on the second hand market.
Rapid Transit Co. I consider as scarce. Collectors in the UK refers
to this model as never sold in the UK. Some tells the model was
for the North American market.
The Bus comes in different liveries, most of the well known colours
and with the springing star and name of the Co.
This logo, I have not been able to find on any original bus on the
US streets. The same logo was used by a II WW german parachute regiment
and maybee its time for us to look upon the Rapid Transit firm.
It grow up in Philadelfia on ruins of a bankrupted transport firm,
directed by Thoman Mitten. He died in 1929 found drowned in his
summer resident at Polonas.
Transport Rapid Co had a company band which recorded marching music
often conducted by the very Mr.Sousa which in 1923 launched “The Mitten Mens Marsch” first I found it might have something to do
with gloves, but was the name of the founder,
Today RTT gave name to a system of logistic used by many
operators,
The RTT bus from Tekno seems to have been made arround 1960-62
Some has the MHS logo, some have not.MHS as a real firm
closed in 1957 and at some point the logo dissapeared
from the models.
I personally consider most of the RTT busses from Tekno
as Repro allways found in a state of mint, nearly no one
seems to bee playworn.september 24, 2016 kl. 19:43 #36680Stroget
ParticipantIt was pretty common in the US where I live on the 2nd hand market – 15 20 years ago!! But now no Tekno bus is common in the US!
Great photos – thank you. I had assumed that it was a fantasy company – just made up for US/Canada market? You are right – probably not for UK, as the Rapid Transit Co sounds very American and not British!

InactiveI thought the same as you, Rapid Transport as a non existent company,
but it was real.
Note the text beneath the picture of Mr.Mitten, today we might
had called it a “concept” for using busses in logistical ways.Max Madsen er sådan karry, okker gullig, jeg har ofte problemer
med billeder taget via en smartphone som jeg låner.Har nogen set en Aarhus Sporveje Volvo bus med en decal
som vist her, decalen var aflang, men hvid i stedet
for blå.
Den sad bagpå. - ForfatterIndlæg
