You asked about RAK! In English in one of the catalogs, it was spelled out as Real Automobile Knack! I think the Marketing Dept made that up! 🙂
In German, rocket is Rakete so perhaps they are meant to go fast as raketes! The 1st catalog that spelled it ‘rak’ was 1971. Corgi Rockets came out in late 1969. Coincidence?
Hi Karl : OK — And i used to run around Flensburg (D) as a kid 😉 never thought about rocket … RAK models came with fast wheels like all others. Before RAK, the Märklin was with rubber tires.. Apart from that, almost all post-war models is pretty good, and expensive today, Even Tekno models are often cheaper
